Everyone has looked at photos of when they were younger and thought, "What happened to my beautiful skin?" Though the strength and resilience of skin to adapt to climates and different environmental conditions, over time it can start to show our age. As we get older, our skin (and especially face skin) looses a layer of fatty tissue that keeps skin looking young and healthy. This is what gives us wrinkles and that not-so-firm look.

And NEVER go tanning, natural sun light is better for your skin anyway when used appropriately.

Step 2: Put An End to Bad Habits!
The three biggest bad habit culprits to ugly skin is smoking, drinking alcohol, and not drinking enough water. You should be drinking eight to twelve glasses of water a day, this will help your skin retain its elasticity and help it bounce back better and faster. Smoking over time can cause wrinkles and leathery skin, and besides it's terribleyou're your health. Also, excessive drinking of alcohol can dehydrate your body and suck out all the important nutrients your body needs to keep healthy skin.

Step 3: Early to Bed, Early to Rise…
Sleep is one thing nobody gets enough of. But a restful nights sleep is probably one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your skin. Sleep is when your body regenerates and if you aren't getting enough, you may experience illness and your skin won't be able to recover from the everyday damages it goes through. Lack of sleep may cause blemishes, outbreaks, and even acne. Also, be sure to eat balances meals with plenty of protein and fresh vegetables. Can't eat 3 balanced meals a day? Ask your physician about what vitamin supplements might work for you.

Step 4: Find a Skin Care Routine That Works for You
Find an aesthetician or even ask your pharmacist or beauty supply store for a skin care routine that will work for you. Get to know your skin - whether oily, dry, or whatever - and find a system that works for you. Whether you cleanse and moisturize or active or exfoliate, be sure to stick to a consistent routine. And whatever you do, do it GENTLY. Your skin does not like to be man-handled.
