Dark nail polish has always been one of the things of fashion that some people have taken to and others have not. As the winter season approaches, more and more people are veering toward darker shades of fingernail polish as a means of covering up their nails, as it more easily matches many of the components that make up a fall wardrobe.

Pour polish remover on a cotton ball and remove any old polish and oils from your nails. Soak your nails in warm, soapy water for several minutes then rinse and dry them thoroughly. Before you start applying the polish to your nails, you'll need to select the right color. My first advice is to use a color that you actually like and not follow any rules of thumb regarding color choice. Before applying nail polish, assure you clean your nails with a polish remover to remove any traces of oil. Always apply a base coat and a top coat. While the base coat helps in the preservation of the color, the top coat guards the enamel. Applying a top coat everyday could extend the life of your manicure and your nail color.

When choosing a polish, not only is the color important, but what you use as a base and top coat as well. In fact the base coat and top coat can make a huge difference. When I do a client with natural nails, if they are not on a program (like nailtiques or develop ten)

If you are addicted with nail polish at some point there is a need for nail polish remover. There are variety of choices found in the market from fumes, acetones and more. There is also the topic of efficiency when it comes to brands. Choosing the right one can be a daunting task because this isn't just about selecting a polish remover.

Think about your environment before choosing a color and keep your colors plain and basic if you're planning to attend a business meeting or an interview. If you choose to use unusual patterns or colors for your nail polish you may draw unnecessary and unwanted attention to your hands. If it's not a hand modeling interview or business meeting, stick to the basics for a more positive effect.

If you are looking for a classic and always elegant and appropriate look for your nails, you can always go for a good french manicure. In this case, the length of the manicure and the final shape of the nail can say quite a bit about the wearer in a very subtle manner. Square nails really show a unique and interesting style when combined with a french manicure.
