How Facebook Is Wasting Lots of Office Time

'I can't really remember, but I think my life must have been a lot more productive at work before I discovered Facebook.' This is a line that every employee who surfs Facebook at work must have thought atleast once in life. Facebook, a simple social networking sites started a few years ago by an amateur, has been taking over the lives of many. How does Facebook waste time at work?

'It would be such a pain to wake up in the morning, but the fact that I could surf Facebook at work used to drag me from my bed to work.' This is a fact in many people's lives. Facebook-a social networking site that can connect you to such a wide range of people across the world, both known and unknown is more exciting than it may seem to a 'non-facebooker'. You may think it's just another social networking site, you may even join it out of curiosity, but once you step into this manipulative world, it will be almost impossible to leave. It is like a drug and there are many addicts who are a part of it. In order to prevent boredom for those who don't have a plethoric friend list, Facebook has introduced a number of applications like Farmville, Fishville, Social Interview, etc which have become an instant hit. In addition, there are also a number of quizzes and games that Facebook provides. How can any person stay away from a networking site as happening as this one? Often people don't have an Internet facility at home or on their phones. For such people, Facebook at work adds brownie points to their entertainment at a place as tedious as office. Employees often think that after working for hours, a couple of minutes of Facebook won't hurt. However often these couple of minutes stretch into hours as the malicious seductress(Facebook) puts them under her spell. At the end of the day, when they look back they notice that they have hardly managed to finish their work. Such can be the impact of Facebook over our employees today. Does work suffer or not? Obviously it does. So much that there must not be one boss in the world who hasn't silently cursed Mark Zuckerberg for his creative invention.

Due to these reasons, there are many companies which have already banned their employees from surfing any website expect those related to work. Facebook has been a breath taker for many across the nations, however for offices this proves otherwise.
