Orihuela Costa enjoys a lavish 16km of cliff-rimmed sanded beaches, excellently maintained according to the Blue Flag standard that awards beaches that have a high standard of hygiene and adhere to environmental friendliness. There are six beaches that all offer their uniqueness:

Cabo Roig has a couple of beaches, Cala Caleta and Cala Capitan. It is one of the longest and has an 18-metre wide cove-like beach area accessible by ramp or staircase. It offers parking, a first aid station and a nearby bus stop. There is also access for the disabled and other amenities such as a public telephone to use. It also has a nautical club for the water sport enthusiast.

La Zenia is one of the busiest beaches, 350 metres long. It also offers access for the disabled and other amenities such as a public telephone, parking, first aid station and bus stop. Hygiene-wise there are public toilets and showers and a game zone is located here too.

Playa Flamenca beach is a shorter stretch of beach but it is ideal for those who like the tranquillity as it is a lot quieter. It also showers and toilets, a game zone and a public telephone.

Campoamor has an open beach with an esplanade and harbour that offers a huge host of water sports. Water sports may also be seen being practised at other beaches on the Orihuela Costa. Campoamor is endowed with similar facilities to the other beaches.

Punta Prima besides a beautiful stretch of sanded beach also has a Go Karting track for those who have a need for a little speed and competitive spirit.
Besides the water sports that are offered on this coast, there is also the pleasure of playing a round of golf at one of the three splendid courses at Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas. Villamartin is ideal for amateurs and professionals alike and has been used the European Challenge PGA Tour a couple of times. Campoamor actually has three 18-hole courses and its reputation carries the royal standard with it. Finally, Las Ramblas has views that stretch over the majesty of the Mediterranean Sea.

To enjoy this beautiful stretch of coast with its own unique micro-climate that keeps the hottest months bearable and the coldest mild, then you will need to fly into San Javier at Murcia or El Altet in Alicante. Transfer arrangements will be better provisioned at Alicante but it is worth considering flights and transfers costs in any online assessment of your holiday arrangements. If you book ahead then it will give you an idea of the most affordable and most convenient route. Shuttle services and car hire can be booked in advance and if you do fly into Murcia then taxis are going to be more affordable.
