healthy nutritious snack foods at home is often an excuse people will use when they are too busy to eat healthy. Too often, people who are outdoors tend to indulge in junk foods such as; takeaway or fast foods and have no idea of how to eat nutritious foods whilst out and about. Have a pre-loved food or meal. A few hours before eating out at a restaurant, eat a small snack like a tuna sandwich, protein shake, oatmeal, or any healthy nutritious snack foods. This method prevents you from feasting on forbidden foods at the restaurant. It is also helpful in keeping one's blood sugar from rising.

What Are You Ordering? This is an important point. Make sure that when ordering food in a restaurant or takeaway, that you know how that food is being prepared. Irrespective of how healthy a food is, the way its prepared can have massive implications for its health content (i.e. chicken is healthy but greasy fried chicken isn't!). Make sure that you order your food without it dripping in sauce as the sauce will probably have a high sodium content. Instead, have the sauce as a side dish so that you can control its content.

Choose Salad If In Doubt. There are a wide selection of healthy meals on offer on the menu. For the best healthy meals, opt for the grilled chicken, fish, vegetables and shrimp. Avoid any sauces or any type of cheese with the meal as this will only add to the fat content. Similarly, avoid sliced meat as its very probable that this meat is processed (unless its fresh turkey slices right off the bone). You can never go wrong with salad dressing and including this will raise the healthy content of your meal.

Desserts As far as desserts are concerned avoid the ice-cream and opt for the low fat smoothie, coffee or sherbet
