There are times when you need a bigger car than the one you've got but you don't really want the added expense of running a bigger car all the time. Is that right? Not only that you rather like the car you normally drive and it's so much easier to park than a larger model, not to mention taking less cleaning!

Actually there's more to it than that isn't there? Running a bigger car doesn't just mean bigger fuel bills although that's significant enough these days with the price of fuel being what it is. No, it means bigger and more expensive tyres, bigger servicing bills and a higher insurance premium as like as not. Then if your bigger car has a higher emissions figure as it probably will you might well find it attracts a higher rate of vehicle excise tax. As for the effect on your carbon footprint! Let's just not go there!

So what should you do? You could just bite the bullet and hire a larger car on those occasions when you need extra capacity but that's a lot of hassle and you often find the need for more load space at short notice. Not only that if you want it because you're all going on holiday that probably means for your longest trips of the year and you particularly don't want the extra fuel costs of a big car then.

What if you could have the extra carrying capacity whenever you need it but still run your present car that you're not ready to change yet anyway? Would that be the ideal solution? Yes? Well you can and without spending anywhere near what it would cost you to move up to a bigger car!

All you have to do is buy a Karrite roof box to fit your existing vehicle. These boxes come in a range of sizes up to 580 litres. They're all made of the same material, immensely strong and hard wearing but amazingly light when empty.

Their shape is very cleverly designed to provide the right sort of aerodynamics to have minimal effect on your car's performance and handling. You probably won't even realise it's there! Actually that's something you might have to remember if you use a multi-storey car park with a low roof. Your own garage doorway might be a consideration too. It all depends on the normal height of your particular car without the Karrite roof box.

The highly efficient aerodynamic shape of any of the Karrite range means that the effect on your car's fuel consumption is minimal. It's certainly less than the additional fuel consumption you'd have to put up with if you'd bought a bigger car

All models are equipped with a very easy to use central locking system and the lid's supported when open by a patented dual force system so they're convenient in use.

You will need to fit roof bars to your car first because the Karrite roof box range are designed to fit to roof bars. You can fit your box to any suitable roof bars. If you want to be really sure and maintain the same standard of quality throughout it's worth remembering that the Karrite range and the Thule range of roof bars are designed to be compatible with each other.

So all you have to do is to choose the right set of roof bars for your car and the right Karrite roof box for your needs and then get them fitted. You are going to be carrying stuff in this box on your car roof around the highways and byways at all kinds of speeds so you would be well advised to have them fitted professionally. Safety is paramount and your own peace of mind's important too.
