Let's begin by stating that I love Google. I use it daily and almost exclusively. Even though they have recently SLAPPED AND SLAPPED AND THEN DROPPED ME COMPLETELY.
For all I know, I may have deserved the rough treatment.
For those of you who haven't yet experienced the trauma of an instant "crash and burn", please be aware that the Big G reserves the right to cancel your account at any moment, without warning and without any explanation. Just to add insult to injury, they also maintain the right to retain any money that you might be owed at the moment......explaining that those funds will be returned to their more deserving customers.
Of course I appealed their decision. I simply hoped for some explanation of my offense.
Sure, I enjoyed the modest monthly Adsense income; but it was usually just enough to cover my online expenses----cable and hosting. But most of all I simply wanted to know what I had done, after five years of problem free collaboration, to join the ranks of the "dumped by Google" crowd.
If you will read any of the forums pertaining to adsense you'll find literally hundreds of bewildered souls wondering what they did to deserve such a Google adjustment.
As it turns out, we are just the latest victims to the "relevancy movement".
Google has always been good; and they have constantly been improving.
Labeling me, and untold thousands of others, as irrelevant turns out to be simply the latest attempt to improve their service.
Google's increased relevancy awareness and requirements will eliminate by default much of the trash that currently exists online.
My sites, though far from "trashy or irrelevant" were undeniably stale.
The latest SLAP was just a painful reminder that Google requires (demands) content that is CURRENT AND RELEVANT.
So we are back to square one: Give Google what they want (relevant content) and they will give you plenty of what you want (relevant search results, and/or traffic, traffic, and lots of free traffic).
The bottom line is simple: BE RELEVANT.......OR...... BE GONE.
The search for relevant content can be intimidating or it can be fun and challenging. It will all depend on the tools we use........and ironically, Google itself is the most powerful of the available tools........when you know how to use it profitably.
