Wait a minute... we are in 2010?! Those exact words are what some of you, if not all of you are thinking. Why, yes. Yes, it is 2010. Based on our reaction to the New Year, we probably brought things into the New Year we should have left behind in 2009. This is because we put thins off far too long. It is time for us to put the steps it takes to achieve. We will help you put into perspective the things necessary to reach your achievable goals. As Brad Bess and Sarah Guest explained in a video, we want to help you GET YOUR MIND RIGHT!

When we set goals, we tend to put them off until the weekend. The weekend comes around, and we decide to put it off until next week. You start an endless spiral, and may never reach your goal. You unlock this door with the key of excuses. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of justification, a dimension of defense, a dimension of apology. You're moving into a land of both laziness and lethargy, of indolence and sluggishness. You've just crossed over into the Procrastination Zone!

The best thing to do is make sure you set achievable goals for yourself. In the process of achievable goal setting, you have to set yourself up to succeed because of the motivation it will create moving into your next achievable goal. Sometimes when you set goals; you set them too high almost making them impossible to accomplish. This just leads to more disappointment. For example, if you tell yourself to contact 20 people today, and only contact 10, you bring yourself down. Do you see what we mean by creating an achievable goal? Watch what happens when you trim contacting 20 people down to 10. You contact those 10 people, and actually contact 10 more. You've just exceeded expectations sparking some energy in yourself to accomplish your next achievable goal. You have a mountain of achievable goals set, and the motivation starts out small like a snowball. You toss this snowball out at the top of your mountain, and let it roll down gaining momentum. Once the motivation kicks in, you have completed your achievable goals without even realizing it.

The reality of this is only 3% of you are going to achieve your goals. In order for you to increase this percentage, you must set achievable goals. You will exceed what you anticipated if you are more realistic when setting your goals. In order to reach your achievable goals, you must have a system or plan. You do have one of those, right? If you are thinking, I don't have a system or a plan then start one. First off, write down your achievable goal. Then put into place the steps required to accomplish it. Now for the most important step of all, and this step is the LEAST followed. Create a deadline for your achievable goal. Deadlines are important because you work harder to reach them more than not having one in place at all. This step only helps in finalizing your achievable goal. You are your own boss; therefore, you need to treat yourself as a boss would.

Make sure you get your mind right! For every achievable goal you set, apply a deadline to each and every one of them. You are the only one responsible to finish your achievable goals. Art Williams made an awesome speech in the 80's. Funny how it relates to the present. If the link is not here, go check out this article on our blog.
