I have been looking for some gift ideas for my parents as they have a special wedding anniversary coming up soon. It is hard to buy for them, because they have everything that they need and so they can never give you any useful ideas as to what they want. I normally like to get them something useful but I think that for this occasion it seems better to get them something memorable. I have been taking a look at
mens rings but then decided that a ring was a more personal item and maybe something that a wife would give to her husband rather than being a present from a daughter. I do think that jewellery might be the way to go though as that is something that I think would be memorable.
As it is their golden anniversary then I think that something gold would be very appropriate. I think that perhaps a watch of some sort might be good for my Dad. I am wondering whether
pocket watches are more appropriate for this sort of occasion but then again, he would use a wrist watch more, so it really depends on whether I want something useful as well as collectable. I think that I would rather that it was something that he could use and so I will probably get him a really special gold wrist watch that he can wear on special occasions. He never wears a waistcoat and so would not really ever wear a pocket watch anyway and it is not something that you really keep on display so it would just be tucked away somewhere and never looked at.
For my Mum I have decided on a gold
heart necklace as I think that this will be really good for her and I know that she will wear it and enjoy it because she likes jewellery and has just a few special pieces that she wears regularly. She is one of these women that buys jewellery rarely and only wears it on special occasions and so I think that a special piece will be great for her. She enjoys dressing up and does it whenever she goes out for a meal, visits friends or relatives or has visitors herself. She also likes gold and most of her jewellery is gold so she will be able to match it in with other pieces if she would like to.
