A quick way to start making money online is to read emails and get paid. PTR or "paid to read"-programs or websites sends out emails containing services, products or promotions to their registered members. When a member reads an email, clicks on a link and stays on a site for a few seconds he will get paid. It's that simple. Companies who advertise want potential customers to read about them, try out what they have to offer and surf on their websites. If they would send out thousands of emails randomly instead, they would have been accused of spamming and their ISP would probably have shut them down.
This is why they will pay people to read their emails instead, people who have voluntarily sign up at a PTR-website. When you sign up to a paid-to-read-program you will be asked to fill out a form with some information about yourself, this way they will be able to target your emails and send you offers that could actually be of interest to you. When you have submitted your information you will start to receive emails. It is easy to confirm that you have read the email, simply click a link. This link will take you to a website with different ads and offers. You are not required to buy anything however; you are required to stay on the website for about 10-30 seconds. When the time has passed you will receive credit. When you reached a certain level, your credit will be transferred to your PayPal account (or other payment service) as cash.
Usually you will be paid between 0.01 and $0.03 per read email. One program is not going to send you enough emails to make you enough money so you will have to sign up for several of different PTR- programs. If you work a lot with this you could make about 3-$5 an hour. There are a lot of PTR-websites on the internet today so make sure you watch out for the bad once (yes, there are some scam sites out there too).
Some good, reliable sites that you could start out with are inboxdollars.com, mypoints.com and hit4pay.com. Some guidelines to avoid scams: "if it's too good to be true, it usually is". Companies who promise you a lot of money (too much) per read email (something like $5) are surely scammers. You should also make sure that the program you join is free to sign up for. Never pay anything to join a paid-to-read-site. Another thing you could check is if the site has the regular contact information such as phone number and email address.
