Fundamentals of Letterhead and Envelope Printing

Companies distribute information in various ways. Aside from printed materials, technological development has allowed businesses to publicize their company through land line and mobile phones by calls or SMS (short message service) and the World Wide Web by e-mails and official website. Due to this advancement, some businesses, especially new and micro businesses, have forgotten the importance of envelope and letterhead printing.


No matter how small a business is, there is still a need for them to send formal letters to their clients and business partners. This is where letterhead printing may help. Letterheads are images, often in full color, commonly found on the upper part of a letter, though sometimes it can be found on the entire page. Letterhead printing gives a sense of authenticity and formality for the company. A nicely made letterhead attracts customers since it's the first thing that they will notice on the letter.


A letterhead has to include the official company logo. Make sure to have a digital copy of your company logo so it can be edited and fixed on the preferred size and position for the letterhead. If the letterhead is going to be in full color, make sure that it associates with the company's image. For example, if the company uses red on the promotions or advertisement, then stick with red. Changing the color of the letterhead may confuse the clients.


Then, think of a color that may go well with the main color of your letterhead. If white or blue would look great with the red logo, incorporate those colors in your letterhead, like changing the color of the text that will be included. For the text part, the company's name and contact details like the address of their main office, a contact person, telephone and fax number, e-mail address, and website.


Envelope printing can also be either in full color or one-color. Online printing services usually do envelope printing in blue, red or black. There are also different sizes and styles available. Determine the preferred size, style, and color of your company. If you want designs on the envelope too, make it subtle and simple. Again, it would help if the official logo and color are incorporated on the envelope design. It is also important not to clutter the design especially if the envelope has a window.
