In these unprecedented times, everybody is keen to find ways to save money. Even though many businesses are doing badly, there is at least one market that is doing incredibly well, that is comparison sites. Whether it be switching electricity providers or finding the cheapest hotels, these sites good not be busier during this economic downturn, for obvious reasons.

If you think about it, if you do not visit a comparison site and get free quotes for all the services you pay for, you could potentially be throwing away thousands of pounds per year.

Having said that there are now a number of comparison sites available for you to use. Which one do you go for? Many of the sites are very similar but they do have some key differences. Alot of sites will not give you an instant quote, instead they will get all the different brokers to ring you, which can be very annoying, especially as it does take five minutes of so to fill in each form, especially for something like car insurance which requires alot of information about the applicant so that they can give you an accurate quote.

Also bare in mind how many insurers are actually being searched by that particular comparison site. Some sites will only compare fifteen insurers so you may not get the cheapest quote available to you.

Overall the main factor to saving thousands of pounds by switching insurers, financiers and utility providers is that you will not save any money without getting onto the internet and getting a free quote

I run a website called Cheap Insurance Locator that will find you the cheapest insurance for your car, home, pet, travel and breakdown cover
