Faridabad is part of Haryana State, India. It is an industrial city that got its name from its founder, Shaikh Farid. He is famous for being the trusted treasurer of the emperor of that time. The city was built in 1607 A.D., created mainly to protect the highway that passes through the town. This town was important in housing the fort, tanks and mosque. These three structures are sadly ruined already. Its history is just perpetuated in the books and other reading references.

By August 15 1979, Faridabad has become the 12th district of Haryana State. It gives Haryana the largest revenue percentage. These revenue percentages was from more than fifteen thousand industries that houses in this place. As of now, Faridabad has the ranking 9th Asia's Largest Industrial state.

Faridabad has so many great places that one could visit. They have Badhkal Lake, Raja Nahar Singh Palace in Ballabgarh and Surajkund Crafts Mela. These are the places that have important recreation to offer the visitors of Faridabad.


The Badhkal Lake is a very popular attraction, 32 kilometers away from Delhi. This is a great place to retreat. They have the relaxing atmosphere that you would surely love. You can have a nice sight seeing of the birds, hills and lakes present in the place. The place also offers adventure sports for all the active visitors. There is trekking, rock climbing canoeing, and kayaking. They combine the adventure of water and land.

The Raja Nahar Singh Palace is a nice place located in Ballabgarh. This was constructed for more than a hundred many years (from 1739 to 1857). This was formerly a resort that was converted to a heritage resort. This is considered the palace of the 18th century. This has resembled the craftsman and beauty of the Bharatpur palace. The first ruler of the place has a big role in the War of Independence that happened in 1857. The ruler was eventually killed by the British people during the war. The place may have its original set up from the architecture to antiques but it also has the modern touch of their lounge and bar. It is not an old place after all.


The third best place to visit is the Surajkund Crafts Mela. February is the best month to visit because of a special event taking place during this time. The locals make handicrafts and display them during their festival. These crafts cover almost every parts of the country. There are also great music, food and folk dances offered. Shopping is widely available. Folks are always fascinated seeing handworks of embroidered items, metal crafts, intricate lacings and others. Tourists can buy it as souvenirs of the trip.

The Faridabad is best visited on October and March when the climate is conducive for a lot of walking. The sun does not bite on your skin too much. June to September is the rainy days, from moderate to heavy. The rains veil the wonderful attractions of the place. Since the place is near Delhi, there are more likely extreme summers and winters that can be experienced in the place.

You can reach the place by air, rail or car and bus services. The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport if you plan to travel by air. Through rails, there is excellent railway connectivity all over India. The roads here are smooth so buses and car rides will not be too tiring and inconvenient.
