Facts about Anorexic Models

First of all, I just want to clarify that being anorexic does not mean you are skinny. To be diagnosed as anorexic there are several criteria which include symptoms and behaviour. These are typically as follows but there are others:

1) A BMI of 17.5 or under.
2) An intense fear of putting on weight despite being underweight.
3) Distorted body image perception/ refusal to accept low body weight as a problem/ excessive influence of body weight and shape on self-worth
4) Absence of periods for at least three months.
5) Avoidance of foods perceived to be fattening along with one or more of: self-induced vomiting, purging, excessive exercise, use of appetite suppressants and/or diuretics.

You don't have to have all of these to be anorexic, but it is more than being simply thin - it is about behavior and attitude too.

Of course given the industry and the pressures to be a certain weight you can easily see why models would fall into the trap of becoming anorexic from having a strict diet thus they are no longer models but anorexic models .. The difference is the line where someone loses their perception of themselves and becomes an obsession - the diet controls them rather than them controlling the diet so to speak. This is how ordinary models turn into anorexic models.


The anorexic models are the ones where you can clearly see are underweight. The ones that are thin but healthy looking are just dieting very carefully. Careful choice of what you eat will make you thin no matter how fat or chubby you are.

There are special foods that the healthy models eat to give them their slim figure, these foods are low in calories and increase metabolism. Here are 3 tips when it comes to dieting:

1) Try and eat foods that have got negative calories. Your body uses up more energy digesting these food then they actually contain! These foods include celery, pineapple, strawberries and many more.
2) Drink lots of water. Water will make you feel full and so will reduce your appetite.
3) Stay motivated. Make sure you stick at it by setting goals. Think about how you will feel when you can easily fit into those skinny jeans.

When dieting make sure you always stay in control, never ever let the diet control you.
