Incest Marketing on Facebook
Facebook Network marketers often travel in the same social circles and as a result, we have the same friends. This is a problem because many of us are invested in the same companies and products. If me, you, Dick and Jane are all involved with The Blue Bag Business and well all believe the best way to market ourselves is to tell our friends about our products, all of our common friends are going to receive various messages, wall posts, status updates and group invitations about The Blue Bag Business and what it has to offer. After a while, all information about The Blue Bag Business is going to become spam. I know how your friends feel because I'm one of them. I repeatedly hear about the same business opportunities and products from different network marketers. Sometimes I think to myself: "If I hear about this company one more time, I'm going to scream!"
Stop pitching your business opportunity to your friends if you want to keep your friends. You have to assume that your friends have already heard about your business opportunity and that they don't want to hear anymore. If you take the time to get to know them as people and build relationships with them, you will have a better chance of getting them to review your company. Let's pretend you have a friend who deletes every message about The Blue Bag Business prior to reading it. After your connection with them has grown stronger and they see you aren't like those other aggressive marketers, they are going to ask you about your business. Although they may be completely turned off from The Blue Bag Business because of all the spam they were receiving, they will be more inclined to look into the business now that they have a trustworthy friend to provide them with answers and insight. Most people are turned off by overly aggressive marketing tactics. Building a real relationships with your friends is the best way to get them to look at your business.
Another element to consider when discussing incest marketing is the fact that network marketers within the same company are sending pitches to each other about their business. I find it highly insulting when people message me about the company I'm already involved with. If you took the time to get to know me instead of being in such a hurry to tell me about your company, you would know that I'm a fellow associate/business partner. This is the perfect example of why you should never mention your business from jump. Allow your friends to review your business on their own terms. You can post anything you want as long as you aren't spamming your friends. When people see your profile they will know what business you're involved with and if they want to know more, they know where to find you.
Current network marketers change companies every 9-12 months. This makes them the perfect prospects for a new business.Network marketing is difficult and confusing when you don't understand the system. Companies come and go in the blink of an eye in field of online marketing and marketers are always looking for bigger, better and more stable businesses to invest their time, money and effort. You need to understand your company may not be the solution to their problems. There are some very happy marketers, they aren't interested in your business. Successful marketers will seek you out if they perceive you as a leader they'd like to join.
Note: The Blue Bag Business is simply an example. As far as I know, no such company exists and if there is any likeness to any other company, it's a coincidence.
