Travelling abroad can be a big strain on your business & money resources, so proper planning must be done at each and every step. Here are a few procedural, financial and time management tips which can be of benefit to you.

1) Get the necessary Business Invitation letter and visa.

This is a very important part of your planning process as the business invitation letter is crucial for getting the visa and subsequent travelling.

2) Book flight Tickets

3) Obtained the necessary Insurance for the required period.

4) Have your Personal Business cards ready.

This is again very important, because giving your Personal Business cards to your customers makes a good impression in the long run and is also a good way for them to remember you.

5) Have your Laptop with all your files ready

6) Packing your Clothes and Toiletries

(Clothes have to be taken in accordance with the type of climate in the country).

7) Appropriate Formal Shoes

8) Appointment Diary and Scheduler

9) List of Addresses and Phone numbers of all the Existing and Prospective Customers

10) Stationery: - Pens, Pencils, Stapler etc.

11) Currency used in that country and the best currency exchange rates should be kept in mind

12) The amount of currency we need to take with us should be estimated and the currency like US Dollars should be arranged beforehand. This is again a very important step in managing your business & money resources. You should be able to have an idea of the money required and the best currency exchange rates prevalent in order to save money

13) Travellers Cheques should be obtained beforehand.

Travellers Cheques are much safer than carrying cash because they can only be exchanged for cash through our counter signatures in presence of the person giving the cash.

(When we receive the travellers cheques, then we sign in a designated space immediately upon receipt and when we are abroad and we have to exchange them for cash, then we have to counter sign them in presence of the person encashing it. Thus, they form an invaluable resource for both business & money security.).

14) Hotel Bookings

Hotel bookings should be done and reconfirmed in advance and the confirmation number should be with you. If you are going there for the first time, then it is advisable to request the hotel for airport pick up to avoid any tension.

Generally, people do Online Hotel Booking, which is a very convenient way of making your reservations, as it saves both time and money.

For doing online hotel booking, you can visit the website of the hotel OR you may also visit the numerous travel agency websites that offer these services.

You must also have the hotel name, address, telephone number and the name of the person who did the booking all written down on a separate sheet of paper. This would be very helpful in case you come out of the airport and do not find the person from the hotel who has come to pick you up.
