The choices for dwellings on the retail market are numerous, and can seem somewhat overwhelming. For those who are hoping to spend as little as possible for as much as possible, (that would include most of us!) there are less expensive options on the market than a brand new custom stick built residence.
Display homes are a good place for the more thrifty real estate shopper to start looking for a new home. Depending on your needs, you may want to check out the variety of manufactured homes on display. The singlewide, doublewide and modular homes used on the sales lot for showing purposes can be bought at a noticeably discounted price. (Display homes have not been lived in, they have only been used as an example of floor plans, color schemes, etc.) There is also a much smaller example of a display home, perfect for setting up at your favorite vacation spot, as a more attractive alternative to a camper. These can also be used for a single occupancy residence.
Often a person can view display homes in what is termed a display village. These villages generally include such things as landscaping and furnishings, like they would were they being lived in, this way the residence can be seen in a more natural setting, giving the purchaser a better visual image of the end result.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced new home, a display home may be just what you are looking for, with nothing overwhelming about it!
