It is a piece of cloth matching to the jacket and is worn around the waist. If not a cummerbund, a waist-coat, with a low neck is worn beneath the jacket.
Tuxedos are not just preferred for parties and other events but men's wedding suits are also tuxedos in colors of black or ivory. They are also single breasted and worn with a bowtie and a cummerbund.
