Printed materials used for promotions, marketing, and advertisement by businesses seem to all look the same, but examining each carefully can help one tell them apart from each other.

Brochures are single sheets of paper folded into two, three or four panels, commonly printed in full color on both sides. Depending on the amount of information, brochures include more because it is usually targeted for their new, potential clients. It not only presents the company's latest services, it also imparts vital information about the company like a short history, the management, contact details, and the other services they offer. Brochures are typically distributed by the company's sales representatives out on the streets or are left on stores or boutiques for people to freely pick up and read.

Postcards are also single sheets but are made with thicker and more durable material than brochure or flyer. They are not always sent out to customers for information dissemination, rather as invitations or token of appreciation. Sometimes, postcards are also sent to loyal customers to inform them that they have a special gift from the company for supporting their services. They are also sent to possible customers who may soon need the services of the company. Compared to brochures or flyers, postcards are more focused on the presentation and design rather than the information or amount of text included.

Lastly, print flyers or handbills are also single sheets printed on a material like that of a brochure. However, unlike a brochure, flyers are only printed on one side. Flyers are also not as accurate as a brochure when it comes to introducing the company to the new clients. Flyer printing are done usually to present the company's new services, sale on products, updates or special promos, so it focuses more on the text rather than the design and presentation. And like a brochure, we could also commonly see flyers being handed out to people on the street.

In printing these materials for promotions, marketing, and advertisement, an important thing to note is that they should include the contact details of the company, like their location, telephone number, website or e-mail address.
