Sometimes, treatments at home are ineffective and more in depth treatment is required. These can be discussed with a doctor and a procedure can be chosen. These procedures include, laser and infrared coagulation as well as injection therapy. A more serious procedure is the removal of the hemorrhoids and may require a hospital stay. It is important to note that most hemorrhoids will heal by themselves in a few weeks. If it is noticed that they continually return, more permanent measures may be needed.
