Corporate Websites and Their Lack of SEO

Is it just me, or do almost all large corporations have websites that totally ignore SEO altogether? I know they are big companies, with large budgets, but SEO is still important.

For example, let's say a large corporation employs 500 sales people, which bring in decent business. These sales people are paid on commission, so for every sale there is automatically an expenditure associated with it. By simply implementing an effective landing page with expert SEO, the particular corporation in question can cut down on the amount of sales staff and focus more strategically on web marketing. What will this lead to? Increased revenue via decreased expenditures.

Also, when looking at corporations, their brand identity is critical. They thrive on brand identity, especially for consumer-related companies. Nowadays branding is not only something that's found on business cards, advertisements, and in businesses themselves. Today branding applies to the internet and how a company is portrayed online. Ineffective online branding can truly hurt a corporation.

Being that I, Aaron Schoenberger, have been in the internet marketing industry for over 10 years, and have worked for many high-profile corporations, I can safely say that SEO is just as important as any other form of marketing. Keep that in mind.

Where to start? Well, if have a corporate website and want to optimize the site for search engine optimization, I suggest you begin with optimizing the "meta" content on each page. This content includes the meta title, meta description and meta keywords. After the meta information is modified, move on to the content itself. Website content should include keywords/phrases similar to the meta information.
