A good commercial photographer always knows and understands the product and the target audience thoroughly, completely. He knows exactly what would turn his audience on and towards the product or the service. It is through his immense capabilities, a commercial photographer has to bring out that image which would tempt the audience or make her feel good about the concept.

Let us look at some of the categories of products and how a commercial photographer can by virtue of his ability replicate the real world in order to make pictures so compelling that they tickle the desires or other emotions that human beings possess. Some of the human emotions that commercial photographers often take on are - the urge to try out good food, carnal desires, self image and status consciousness, care for family and loved ones etc.

It is true that audience assume an immediate connection between the images and reality. For example,in the print campaigns of a fast food restaurant, let us take the example of McDonald's - the target audience of which is chiefly the kids and then their parents, the commercial photographer is told to shoot a big delicious chicken burger and with the catchy punchlines and big fonts the ad would be made.

What should the commercial photographer do in order to make it very luring to the kids? Click photographs of a freshly made chicken burger where all the cheese, the filling and the lettuce leaves that would look absolutely fresh and would peek out in a way that makes the burger look absolutely irresistible. All the ingredients in the burger would look absolutely perfect in shape, design and colour. And every element together would have a synergy effect in the total image.

A good commercial photographer can really bring out the synergism in the image which would make the readers of the ad feel hungry and their tongues wanting to dig into the lovely looking burger.
