Gardening outside is very healthy and enjoyable when the weather is fine with bright sunshine and cool breeze. But when the winter sets in the cold gets at you and you find your hands and feet going numb with cold. Digging, watering and pruning the garden becomes very tiring. But this should not discourage you from going on with your passion for gardening. All you have to do is bring the gardening indoor along with yourself. In a comparatively warmer environment you will be able to continue with your gardening.
For indoor gardening the window is the best place to put up your indoor garden. Window is a place where your garden will get the adequate sunlight and air. So this will be the best place to put up your garden, on the windowsill. You should now select such plant that will grow such plants that not only will thrives during winter but can even provide you with some kitchen inputs for your to enjoy. It can act as a mini kitchen garden too. Moreover when you will look outside the window your eyes will always meet a bright scene before they go beyond to see a gloomy exterior. You can grow some herbs in this garden along with colourful flowers. While the flowers will lift us your spirit; the herbs will spice up your winter brew.
There are a number of adaptable herbs that can be grown in your windowsill garden. Some of them are basil, coriander, thyme, parsley etc. These plants can grow small and can easily fit in your tiny garden and needs no great care to flourish. The aroma given out by these herbs will spread into your house and can change the mood of the house when the breeze sweeps in from the window. And not to mention the aroma and taste that these herbs will add to you food when used in cooking.
The advantage of the windowsill garden is that it needs little tender care. Regular watering and a few hours of sunlight are all that it will need to thrive on. So even if you are not an expert on gardening, you can easily put up a windowsill garden. You will get every thing you need to put up a windowsill garden ready-made. You will get packet of some winter-blooming plant seeds and some soil that has been mixed with manure for indoor plants like Nasturtiums, pansies and calendulas. You will get these at your local stores and you don't have to sweat it out to create your own windowsill garden.
The windowsill garden once put up will bring smile to whoever sees it and will make you happy when you see the flowers blooming. It not only will make the environment bright but will lift up your spirits as well. So don't be discouraged by the winter, always remember you have the choice of bringing in the garden in you house if you desire to do so.
Therefore without going out in the winter you can continue gardening and cheer up your window.
