Have you ever mused about why manufacturers market their gleaming, space age looking printers for such modist prices? I'll tell you why. The real profits are in the selling of their brand name ink cartridges.
Do you know that these companies pull sort of a fast one on you? Yup...those complimentary cartridges that come with your new printer are only partly filled. They give you a nibble of what its like to use the new printer and then out of the blue you run out of ink.
So what's your natural? It's to go get the same name brand replacement ink cartridge. However, one look at the charge and you are ready to buy a cheap ink cartridge ASAP!
So are cheap ink cartridges worth it? A key case used against purchasing cheap ink is that over time it will ruin your printer. You know what I think? Don't be troubled one bit about it.
I've been using generic ink cartridges in my printer for years without it being detrimental to my printer. But even if it had, I would've just turned right around and purchased another printer. They are affordable if you buy them new but here's what I do, I buy printers at garage sales. I see Epson printers and Hewlett Packard printers all over the place. I've never paid more than $4.00 for one.
When I ask the seller why they're getting rid of the printer they usually say, "Oh I just bought a new computer and I got a free printer with it. There's nothing wrong with this one, I just want to get rid of it."
So in my judgment buy cheap ink cartridges until the cows come home. Are they worth it? You better believe it. I pay around $11.00 for a generic black and white ink cartridge. A name brand would cost me at least $8 to $10 more.
You know what? For a product I have to purchase on an on going basis, I'm going to look for value.
In my opinion buying cheap ink for your ink jet printer is the best value.
When I heard a friend fretting about whether she could chance buying a cheap ink cartridge for her jet printer I decided to look into it for myself. If you are a purest when it comes to your computer's printer than don't buy cheap ink. But if you're interested in getting decent value for your hard earned dollars then a cheap print cartridge will suit you more than just fine. Here's why.....
