Blinds Vs. Curtains

Blinds are a fantastic addition to your home. Apart from looking stylish and giving your home a modern look they also act as great insulators in both cold and hot weather as well as provide you with much needed privacy.

Blinds used to be mainly confined to office environments as they are easy to maintain (i.e. you do not need to wash them as you do with curtains) are cheap, easy to install, and do not take up much room. However over recent years more and more people are installing blinds in their home and with the amount of choice and the benefits they offer it is not difficult to see why.

Depending on what blind that you use blinds are also a lot more inconspicuous than curtains. If you have a roller blind by rolling them up you are left with a neat roll of material above the window. If you open curtains the material folds together and takes up a lot of the edge of the window which is not too problematic if you live in a house with big rooms but for people with small rooms this can be problematic.

Again compared with curtains, blinds give you a lot more control over the amount of light that you allow in to your home. Vertical blinds and wooden blinds allow you to adjust and twist the slats allowing for minimal light to pass through and at the same time still offer you with privacy. As well as this you can lift blinds to fully expose your window and so you can see how blinds are a lot more versatile than curtains.

Blinds can add a lot of style to your home. With curtains you are restricted to pretty much the material and colour/pattern of them. With blinds you have a lot more choice in materials such as wooden blinds and style such as venetian blinds. They really do make your home look a lot more modern. The amount of colours that blinds come in is also another feature of what blinds offer you. You can choose a blind to match the colour scheme of your room in whatever style you want.

Blinds offer you so much choice for your home. Instead of settling for the traditional curtain you really can brighten up your home with a blind be it wooden blinds, roller blinds, or very elegant venetian blinds.
