Are you like me and love the taste of BBQ-ed food. The whole process of cooking the food, spending time with family and friend whilst cooking up dinner is the best way to spend a sunny afternoon. There are a few things that can make or break the quality of your BBQ. Following a few simple tips can improve your BBQ.

Keep It Clean

Firstly keep you grill clean, after you've finished BBQ scrape of all the old food residue whilst the grill is still warm. I find a one of the BBQ wire brushes brilliant. Give the grill a wash then with hot soapy water, put the grill back in the BBQ and rub a little cooking oil on the bars. The prevents any rust building up on the grill.

Keep Food From Getting all stuck Up

If your food has a tendency to stick to the grills, home made burgers are really notorious for sticking, try this lightly brush the food with a little cooking oil before you place it on the grill. This should prevent the food sticking, no one wants a burger that is all mashed up because it got stuck and you had to scrape it of the grill.

Flavouring the Wood

Personally I love smoking food on a BBQ, the wood chips are normally soaked in water to prevent the burning up and so produce more smoke. Instead of soaking them in just water try soaking in something other than plain water. Try adding onion powder and garlic powder to the water, the wood absorbs the flavour and this transfers to the meat. Another good tip is soak in whisky for a unique flavour.

Marinating the Meat

Marinating the meat in a plastic bag or bowl need to be done for as long as possible, ideally 24 hours in the fridge for the flavour to really get into the meat.

There are many more tips and tricks that can be employed to achieve the perfect BBQ, far to many to mention here, but these are a few to get you cooking good BBQ food.
