About Me: Digital cameras have no doubt overtaken conventional cameras when it comes to demand but just what exactly sets these two cameras apart? How does a digital camera achieve what it achieves? Well to start with just like a conventional camera a digital camera has a series of lenses that focus light in order to create the image of the scene that you intend to capture, however instead of focusing this light onto a piece of film it focuses it onto a semiconductor device that records light electronically. This information is then broken down into digital data by a computer. Essentially a digital image is a long string of 1s and 0s that represent all the tiny coloured dots, otherwise known as pixels that collectively make up the image.
