Decluttering any room in your house including your kitchen can be an overwhelming experience if you don't know where to start. To get you started with organizing your kitchen, you need to ask yourself a few simple questions.

What is causing the most clutter in my kitchen?

Take a good hard look around your kitchen. Which areas of your kitchen looks a mess and which areas look nice and organized? Now that you have done some homework, it's time to take action on identified clutter zones.

Kitchen Bench
Your kitchen bench can be a major culprit when it comes to keeping your kitchen clutter free. If you have a small kitchen and not much workspace, it's all the more important that you keep your kitchen bench clear. If you happen to bake cakes frequently or roll dough out on your kitchen bench, you'll be able to relate to that problem of needing more elbow room to roll out your dough.

Too many Kitchen Gadgets
Too many gadgets can result in clutter on your kitchen bench as well as clutter in your cupboards. Aim to have only one cupboard for storing kitchen appliances and gadgets. If you can't fit all your gadgets into the one cupboard, it may be time to review which gadgets you use frequently and give away the ones that you don't use often.

Cleaning
After throwing away unused items in your kitchen, do a bit of cleaning to really make your kitchen shine. Give your stove top, oven and kitchen sink a good clean. Avoid harsh chemicals and give the natural approach a go. Bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and orange oil are all excellent natural products to use for cleaning your kitchen.

Fridge
The fridge is another key area where clutter can collect. This is clutter in the worst form because old food breeds germs. Keep a handle on the items in your fridge and place older items of food at the front of the fridge. If the food doesn't get eaten within a few days, throw it out.
