VGA Splitter: Transmit the same VGA signal to multiple video display devices

With the help of a VGA Splitter, one VGA signal can be simultaneously transmitted to many display devices. In order to obtain the output on 90 or more monitors, these splitters can be cascaded together to form a large hub. In order to extend these signals over larger distances, inexpensive Cat5/ Cat5e and Cat6 cables are used to connect the source and output devices. The splitters used for these long distance transmissions are called Cat5 UTP VGA Video splitters. While the VGA splitter is the most common, many types of splitters are available such as the Quad screen splitter, DVI Video splitter, S-Video splitter, Component Video Splitter, Composite Video Splitter, and the VGA & Audio Splitter.


Clear and crisp images with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1440 can be provided by these devices due to their ability to amplify the video signal. A bandwidth of 350 MHz is also supported by them. Available with two, four, eight and sixteen ports, and support all VGA, UXGA, SXGA, XGA and multi sync monitors. These devices are compatible with PCs, SUNs and MACs. DDC, DDC2, and DDC2B protocols and have standard 15 Pin HD VGA connectors. Combining a Video Splitter and video switch into the same form factor creates the video matrix switch, which allows many inputs to be displayed on many outputs.


Users utilize these video splitters for applications requiring high bandwidth, high resolutions and identical visual images. Also called distribution amplifiers, these devices are perfect for any environment requiring high quality video on several monitors. A key feature of these devices is that the simultaneous broadcast of VGA signals is done in real time. It is also beneficial to network administrators as it enables remote monitoring. Business presentations, educational facilities, training centers, bars, hotels, casinos, restaurants, airports, train and bus stations, financial institutions, multimedia displays, conference rooms, digital signage and SOHO applications all require information sharing at some point in time hence these are areas wherein the VGA Splitter is used.
