- After the first 3 months of owning a new mattress repeat the above every two months

- Mattresses also need support so use a bed frame which has a centre support. This will support the mattress in the centre, helping it last longer as it's put under less strain.

- Finally, if your mattress does become a little worn you can always extend its life by purchasing a mattress topper. This goes on top of the mattress, often helping to make it more comfortable, and also gives the mattress an extra layer of protection, helping it last longer.
