What is your concept of healthy living?

Is it eating healthy food? Doing regular exercise? Not smoking and avoiding drinking alcohol?

Sounds simple, doesn't it? Sadly, it's not that easy to live healthy in today's unhealthy world. Look around you and you'll find that threats to your health and wellbeing are lurking everywhere.
Deceptive marketing has greatly influenced our eating patterns, so much that 90 percent of the money Americans spend for food is for unhealthy and highly processed foods.

One in three Americans have diabetes or pre-diabetes while two in three are overweight because of the calories from too much soda consumption.
Every year, 7.5 million unnecessary medical and surgical procedures are performed, while at least 106,000 die from adverse side effects of over-the-counter and prescription drugs.

It's the 21st century, yet many health myths still prevail, like those on sun exposure and cholesterol.

Before, being health conscious was considered "unfashionable" because it meant not eating this, not doing this and not using this. But, come to think of it, one cannot afford not to be health conscious, because being health conscious simply means you just love yourself and your life enough to seriously care about your health and wellbeing.

You only have one life to live so choose to live it healthy.
Despite all the threats, you have the power to take control of your health.
And in health, knowledge is power.
