The heart is a four chambered, hollow muscle and double acting pump that is located in the chest between the lungs. Heart diseases caused by high blood pressure contributes to hardening of the arteries. High levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) build up in the arteries as a result of uncontrolled diet with high levels of saturated fat and trans fat. All these add to the formation of atherosclerosis lesions and eventually arterial blockage.

Most of rhabdomyomas occur in children or infants and are associated with tuberous sclerosis. It develops in the myocardium or the endocardium and accounts for about one out of every five tumors that originate in the heart causing obstruction of blood flow, valvular insufficiency, and cardiac arrhythmias. Symptoms of rhabdomyomas include palpitations, chest pains, shortness of breath, and nausea.

Coronary heart disease is the most frequently seen type of heart problem. It is the most common type to lead to heart attacks. This type of heart disease occurs when the blood supply to the heart is limited due to narrowed arteries. When fatty deposits from the foods we eat build up in the coronary arteries, it decreases the size of the opening in the arteries which the blood flows through, causing complications and in some cases, heart attack.

One of the most common types of heart disease is rhythm disorders, affecting about one of every 18 people in the United States. This is diagnosed when a person's heart does not beat on a regular basis. While many people live with this type of heart disease with few complications, it will need to be monitored by the doctor for any changes. Heart murmurs are another of types of heart disease that produce sounds in the heart that are not considered normal. There can be a variety of causes, including trouble with the heart valves, but many are not fatal.

Whether or not heart disease runs in your family does not necessarily mean that you will or won't have problems with the problem. With no history of the disease in my family, we were all shocked when my mother ended up in the hospital for an extended stay followed by almost a year of medication regulation until they found what worked for her. One of the most important things that we learned from this experience is that early detection is the key. Many times this early detection starts with you.

Not many people realize that high blood pressure is actually a heart disease. It is generally a condition which is caused by pressure onto the artery walls and it causes the heart to beat harder and faster than it would normally have to. It is possible for heart failure to develop due to high blood pressure and also an aneurysm can also occur.
