We are all consumers; whether we shop til we drop or not. We all buy electricity, water, parking spots, and hundreds of other things on a monthly, even daily basis. As consumers we have a lot of decisions to make, and like or not, the ways in which we handle these decisions can have a huge impact on many other areas of our daily life and financial outlook.
Looking for sales and using coupons are only some of the things that we can do to get the most bang for our buck; some other things include:
Buy in bulk. When an item that you use on a regular basis is marked down to a price that you cannot find it anywhere else for, grab as many as you can find. Doing this could save you money in two ways; immediate savings when you buy it and you will not have to add it to your shopping list for quite a while.
Buy seasonal merchandise off season. Prices on big ticket items and clothing are slashed as much as fifty percent, up two months before they are out of season. So you have to buy next year's awesome new barbeque in August, but you will save a few hundred dollars. And depending where you live, you still may get to use it before it's time to store it away for next summer.
Do holiday shopping all year long. You can expect to pay up to double the price on some things starting a couple of months before any major holiday. By keeping your eyes open for gifts and decorations all year, you will have a bigger selection and be less stressed than if you wait until the last minute.
Eat at restaurants that offer kids eat free days and two for the price of one specials. This is one way that eating at your favorite restaurant can get even better.
Shop for meat a couple of hours before the grocery store closes. You can literally find the more expensive meats at half price or lower at this time; whatever you don't need to use in the next couple of days can be easily frozen for at least two months.
Try new businesses. Dry cleaners, nail salons, and more will give new customer discounts in an effort to capture new customers. Save this move for when you have a lot of dry cleaning, or are a little short on cash one week, but are in desperate need of a pedicure.
Get tickets to events and theme parks online. Many times there is an automatic discount just for buying your tickets this way; even hotels offer better rates on line.
Whatever your shopping style; there are money saving treasures out there to dazzle everybody.
