If you start from the ground without a dime

You probably have been bombarded by tons of marketing information in forms of ebook or newsletterss provided by lots of internet gurus.(I don't deny I am the one of them.) Some are promoting one touch software for setting up website or making Youtube video. And more often than not, you might have been motivated by their sales copy but whenever you are about to purchase those information ,I guess you have been shocked at their price. $50~60 is average and some of them are $90~180.
But I have to tell you that you have no reason to be frustrated or intimidated at all.
Because there are whole bunch of FREE tools in Internet. Even if you don't have a enough money to get started you have a right to run your own business. All you need to have is a time and little bit of skill. Since you are one-man band you have to know how to use those FREE tools with utmost efficiency. There are 3 kinds of FREE tools as far as I know ; Blog,email,YouTube . But I won't mention YouTube here since I don't even know how to submit my video.

1.Blog:
First you don't need to mess with web hosting or HTML stuffs in setting up blogs. And blogs are tremendously attractive to the search engines. They creat ongoing content that is added on a regular basis, so the spiders keep coming back and updating your listings. But many website owner are reluctant to start blogs because they don't know how to write or don't have enough time. Sometimes they hire ghostwriter to do it for them but because of the fee they don't usually do it as much as they want. Here is the point. You have the ones that they don't have. You have a time and writing skill.Your writing doesn't need to be astonshing. A 500 word of neat content is enough. Just let them know "I am here to help you". So you don't need to be intimidated.
Check the following platforms for blogs; Blogger, Typepad, Blogsite, WordPress.
I usually use WordPress.To be honest I don't know the advantage of WordPress.I am using it simply because my web server company set it up for me automatically. But lots of people recommand WordPress.
*Some people sue their blog as a sales copy or affiliate link but I don't want to recommend this. You can get your website with $5 a month.
I saw some are $1. And Yahoo provides with geocities(They are planning to stop service by the end of this year) for FREE. Shamefully I could't figure out how to use this though.

2.Email
I can't emphasize the importance of a mailing. Fortunately FREE email system is available everywhere.Unless you want to use autoresponder kind of tool. A good mailing list of your readers is more powerful than $5000 website.
Tell your reader that you can provide them an information or idea they strongly need. You can be paid by money order or something else.
This is slow and you have to watch your email to check the orders
but this is very easy option for starters. What a good deal!
They get information with reasonal fee and you can escaped at least from being starved and move on forward your success.
