The black cabs popular design has endured modernisation with other taxi brands often aping its design. It has become so popular overseas that the company who manufactures them Manganeze Bronze is attempting to roll them out in a few different countries.

The classic black cab is an iconic piece of UK heritage. It is easily identifiable in a crowded street and even the modern versions strive to maintain the classic look. In Britain they are taken for granted like part of the furniture but in other countries they are seen as quite a novelty. In New Zealand they are often used as transportation for weddings. They are seen to lend a touch of Britishness to proceedings and it also helps that they can carry five people comfotrably.

They are already seen in Ottawa and San Fransisco and Manganeze Bronze will be starting production in Mexico and China. Will the black cab being rolled out across the world lead to its appeal being diminished? Part of the charm comes from the Britshness associated with the black cab. Could this identity be lost if the same design is used throughout the world? Probably not as it is so iconicly British. I hope not anyway.

The taxis for sale in America are often not as enduring and hard wearing as the traditional hackney taxi. Theres a good chance that the taxis cost effectiveness could see it catch on in penny watching America. With this ruggedness does come a hefty price tag.

The LTI brand of taxi costs around £27000 in the U.K. With the emerging markets of Mexico taxi manufacturers could see huge sales as there are 100,000 unlicensed taxis currently operating there. It just depends on wether or not they can make the black cab popular in that region or not. If you were looking for a taxi in a sea of vehicles a london cab style taxi would stand out from the crowd.
