For much of the post-industrialized world the bidet is the toilet of choice, however, it is rather unknown in the United States.

We need to know what exactly a bidet is before we all go out and buy one.

The bidet is, strangely, the French word for pony. Bider in old French, means to trot. just as one rides a pony, so it was thought that one rode a bidet. Not that this sounds more pleasant, but in reality, it is the most hygienic way of using a toilet.

The bidet's creator remains not absolutely proven. The first written reference was in 1710 when it was used in the bedroom. By the 20th century it had moved to the bathroom with the arrival of significant plumbing improvements.

The electronic bidet was built in 1960 and had an attachment which connects the conventional bidet to the conventional toilet arrangements. Nowadays, you could choose between either a separate toilet and bidet or the two combined.

So, what exactly does it do? Well, to put it quite simply, it sends out a soothing stream of water to clean your bottom as it is activated. Depending on your preference, you then have the option of using toilet paper as well.

It is more hygienic than wiping with toilet paper alone. Yes, studies have proven it.

In 1980, Japan and South Korea went a step further by introducing paperless toilets. The bidet dries the user after washing using a combination toilet and bidet. This means the end of running out of toilet paper in the middle of the night.

For those who live in less warm climes, you could improve this combination by adding a toilet seat warmer.

These combination bidets have been very popular, especially in hotels. They are now becoming more popular as they are being sold to domestic users and a number of our major institutions and businesses throughout the United States. It is possible to, therefore, purchase them for your house if this is of interest.|If this is of interest, you could buy them for your house.

The charge for a bidet unit in the United States is more than what you pay around the world where they are commonplace. In the Middle East, where it is possible to pick up a unit for USD$20, they are the cheapest. Nonetheless, as their popularity grows, their price will come down.

Bidet attachments which can be fitted to conventional toilets are now being offered for purchase in stores throughout the United States. They can include remote controls, fixed to the toilet seat, especially for use by the elderly to activate the water jets and air dryer.

Depending on requirements, the prices of these vary significantly. It is possible to select from a variety of options. There are a variety of options from which it is possible for you to choose. There are a wide range of designs, a number luxurious, others less exotic. There are heated seats, pulsating streams, adjustable temperature streams and built-in dryers.

So, you could buy a standard bidet to sit in your bathroom separately beside your toilet, or you could buy a seat or attachment to be utilised with your existing toilet. And you could select from a range of extras.

Then, to cap it all off, you could invite your neighbours in to try out of your new toilet!
