Most people on earth today do believe that there is life on other planets of the universe. Science fiction writers have written tons of novels on aliens. We have seen 'green creatures' as aliens from other planets in movies. Then we have the super heroes capturing the imagination of people. All have their origins in unknown planets scattered around the universe.

Well if we can believe in aliens being green colored monsters then why not robots. Some ardent Transformers fans firmly believe in the existence of robots ruling the universe. On earth, we are busy in creating robots to do repetitive tasks. Visit a car-manufacturing plant and you see robots welding and assembling cars. In an advanced society, robots should be able to perform multiple tasks. Why should a robot be limited to performing just one mundane task? Therefore, Transformers changing to multiple forms and performing different works makes sense.

When it comes to ruling the universe, the vote is divided. Some fans believe that the robots have got rid of their inventors, and rule the universe. Others believe that a higher intelligence form that uses them to gain control of the universe rules the robots.

One point on which all Transformers fans agree on is that there are intelligent robots in the universe. Whether a robot controls the universe or not is a continuous debate. Some fans think that there are renegade robots and good robots. The other school of thought thinks that only robots can travel across the universe, exist in different environments, do not die or deteriorate, and have always been around.

Their theory is backed up by the fact that man cannot travel across space and time and has limitations. Hence, the feeling or belief that robots are capable of doing this carries weight. Robots don't need oxygen to breathe or food to eat so they are not bound by limitations. If robots are intelligent and superior to their inventors then why should the inventors rule them? So here, the Transformers fans who believe that robots rule the universe score a point.

The other school of thought is that the robots are used, and can be destroyed by their creators when they want to. They argue why any intelligent form would create something they cannot control. Here they score a point. If there are robots that control the universe, then why have they ignored Earth? They must know that life exists here, then why have they not paid a visit.

Then there are those fans that just enjoy the adventures, the action and the stories of the Transformers. It's like enjoying reading a Popeye or Bugs Bunny comic and thinking nothing further about it.

Children who were ardent admirers of super heroes and other comic book characters have grown out of these fantasies. Therefore, the Transformers fans will also eventually grow out of their fantasy. However, if they believe that robots rule the universe, let them. The Transformers have not done any harm to earth. In both Transformers, and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, we see robots in both good and evil characters.
