Fire and Water. Diametrically opposed, but together cause the most extensive damage in a home. Natural disasters like wildfires can cause Fire Damage and a few years ago Orlando, Florida was hit by 5 hurricanse which caused extensive water damage in the area. But many water damage incidents are caused by items inside the property - residential, commercial, industrial and governmental. Sometimes one triggers another. Fire damage is put out by water damaging the property. Your properties must be protected against fire damage and water damage.

Those issues that are inside the property can often be prevented if routine maintenance and proper inspection is performed even though there's not much that can be done about stopping natural disasters. Installing smoke detectors on premises as directed by law, at least, in Orlando, Florida could save your life. Your chances of survival when fire damages your property increases dramatically if there's a smoke detector. Also inspecting water pipes regularly can prevent sudden floods from happening.


FIRE DAMAGE
Having a fireplace, space heater or candles increases your endangers people on the property due to carelessness. Fire damage can easly occur if not paying close attention. A fireplace should be cleaned once a year if you use it. If you leave things unattended on the stove, cooking can be hazardous. Water damages so many other things, like wallboard or drywall, carpets and padding, wood flooring and underlays. Especially if the roof leaks or pipes burst.

Even paying attention how rain water flows through your yard can save you money. Water damages your property's foundation if improperly landscaped and water flows under it
