What's really important when you want to get out of debt is your attitude. You've heard it before, I'm sure. If you didn't watch or read The Secret, you've probably heard someone talk about it. It's called the law of attraction.
Your attitude needs to reflect your goals and desires in a positive way. Now, I've heard it before, too. Someone takes a picture of where they want to live on their cork board at work, and they look at it every day. This is their dream. They're thinking about it all the time, so they're gonna get it, right? WRONG.
That's just the beginning. I'm going to propose that you take it a little further and make small steps towards it every day. Think about your goals and desires and map out a life mission. Anything on your list of "to-dos" that doesn't have an end result of accomplishing your true desire needs to be delegated or stopped.
This doesn't mean you stop living your life. Sometimes, I wake up and my hands are dry. I need lotion for them, so I get in my car and go to the drugstore and purchase some lotion for my hands. Of course, we still have to live our lives. However, you don't need to do the things that you don't feel like you excel at.
For example, I know marketing, and I do it rather well. It's not the thing I do best, though. So, I hired someone to do it that's even better at it than me. I know that what I do well is educating, so I focus my energy there.
Maybe you have a hard time keeping up with the housework; hire someone to help you clean it. This way, you can free your time up to do the things that help you accomplish your life mission.
The first thing you need to do to get out of debt is clean up those messes. The messes can be physical, or maybe it's a relationship that's messy. The physical messes are easier to see, and we gravitate towards those because they give results. This is a good starting point.
Once you start taking on your messes, things start falling into place. You create a path of success. Gandhi, the great spiritual leader, once said something to the effect that your physical environment comes first (your hygiene, your health, your chores, etc.) After that, mental and spiritual things follow suit.
Try new things to improve your relationship messes. If you have a spouse you aren't spending enough time with, commit to time once a week for just the two of you. So many times, we get wrapped up in our work and forget what's really important.
In addition to trying new things, learn new things. This could be as simple as learning the features on your iPod. Learning a new computer program is a great way to accomplish this. Read a book on "How to…"
To get out of debt, you need to get into a life of abundance and love. When you see the world with a positive attitude, things start happening.
