The Reader is an amazing movie and was nominated for an Oscar this year. If you missed it during the limited release you can catch it now in the comfort of your own home on DVD.
Katie Winslet is in this movie and plays a woman who has an affair with a younger boy (underage) who is a Nazi guard during the holocaust. She is amazing and even though her character does wrong, we can't help but love her.
Regret is a main theme for this film which is surprising to many. But each shot is loving and there is a portrayal of beauty and tragedy throughout the entire film. Winslet wins her first Oscar in for this film and it is brilliant.
One of the really clever things about The Reader is that it's unlike any holocaust movie you've ever seen. It's incredibly original, tackling subject matter that we've all seen done, and done well, and turning it into something unexpectedly poignant.
This movie is amazing and definitely a must see and buy on DVD. You will love it and want to watch it again with friends.
