The art of Judo origins can be traced back 100 years to Japan from the art of Japanese Jujutsu by world renowned Jigaro Kano. With these origins in the modern world almost everyone has heard of Judo which is mostly made up of grappling and is known worldwide for this. Judo involves throwing techniques, hold downs and submissions.

The mixed martial art of Muay Thai is a devastating striking art and can be trained for fitness, self defence, competition or as part of an overall MMA programme which will leave you with an all rounding base or experience in mixed martial arts.


Brazilian Jujitsu is a grappling art made famous be the Gracie family that were from Brazil and there are no strikes in Brazilian Jujitsu. Brazilian Jujitsu involves grappling for submissions including arm and leg locks and chokes and strangles. Takedowns and throws are taught along with ground positional hold down, movement & escape work and submissions. Brazilian Jujitsu can be classed as an art on its own in a complete form but many MMA students train Brazilian Jujitsu also.

Kickboxing classes come in a variety of levels, from beginner, intermediate, advanced and then into mixed martial arts. The main form of kickboxing with often involve the student learning practical boxing style such as punches and an effective kicking technique.


Often a kickboxing class will start off with a warm up like all regular classes and will then usually move onto padwork and skill drills before sparring. Games are included as part of the warmup and to break the class up periodically enabling the student to have a break in concentration.

Where ever they practice mixed martial arts all training and instructions should be carried out in a safe and controlled manner and no students are normally forced into sparring until they are ready which makes it perfect for any age. In addition martial arts normally have a belt grading system in place from white belt to black belt.
