How to stop lying

Do you have a problem with lying or exaggerating things? If so, you are not alone, many people lied at least once time in their lifetime. Many children learn to lie from early age because they want to be liked or avoid punishment. Many adults are lying too because they are affraid to be misunderstood or come across as too aggressive. Honesty can hurt people, people, for example, when someone asks your opinion if they looked good, but you really beleive they don't, are you going to say "You look really ugly and it's my honest opinion". Of course you could be honest in a different way, you could express your point of view with less harsh words than you would use. Is it being a liar or just having good manners?

Some people lie about everything and anything. It's really hard to deal with pathological liars. Not many people are very honest about how they feel, because most of the time they are not sure. For example, when a girl isn't interested in a guy, she is more likely to say that she is busy because she isn't sure why else wouldn't she find time for him, but on the other side, she is spending her free time with a guy who she really likes. What is the truth then?

Determine the truth is hard because people are affraid to be honest. When I'm trying to be as honest as possible, people get offended sometimes. People get angry at my straightforwardness and sometimes even get shocked. I was surprised a lot of times too that my honesty wasn't appreciated as much as I was always taught to be honest. If you get punished for being honest, you are wondering why would you want to be honest at all. What you need to realize is that it's good to be honest but be careful how you word your honest answers. It can come across rude or not well thought and you could scare people.

Being honest and having a great communication requires a lot of courage and self confidence. Learn to trust yourself, experience, be gentle the way you say things, but always tell the truth. It's better not to tell anything than to tell a lie.

We all make mistakes and nobody is immune to doing stupid things in life. But learn from your mistakes and try to live a better life now. Start living life of honesty and integrity. Some people lie because they want to protect their loved people, but how can you rebuild trust after what you have done with lies?
