With their beautiful ballads and fun freak outs, the Yeah Yeah Yeah's (YYY) have always left fans looking for more. Their last two albums, Fever to Tell and Show Your Bone, included some great songs, yet as a whole the albums were a disappointment to many fans.

But the recent release of Its Blitz has proven that the YYYs are entering deeper and more mature waters. Karen O's incredible energy and dynamic psyche come through in every song. And instead of the edgy, gritty punk sounds and performances the YYYs are well known for, Its Blitz takes the band in a totally new direction. The sound is cleaner and much more delicate. The album is a mix of danceable synthesized tracks and rapturous ballads that are gorgeously sad and slowly building.

Its Blitz shows composer Nick Zinner's true talent as well. Although the album has already been receiving comparisons to the BeeGees to Blondie to Radiohead, Zinner produces what is a unique sound. If you heard the track Runaway, you would never know it was the YYYs, if not for Karen O's distinctive vocals. It's a slow moving ballad with a piano melody.

The, immediately after this ballad is Dragon Queen, a quirky and funktastic song that is perfect for the discotheques and the club scene. Again, the YYYs writing such pop infused dance party beats has come as a surprise to most YYY fans, but we agree with Karen O; Dragon Queen is so catchy, "How are you not going to get high, high?"

It's Blitz, is partly so beautiful due to the tiny perfectionist details in each songs. YYY fans are impressed by the evolution of the group, and their ability to maintain the energy and uniqueness that they are known for.

The New Yeah Yeah Yeahs CD, has become an immediate success. Their old fans still love them, and they have managed to drum up a few new ones, with the dance pop style. It's Blits -Yeah Yeah Yeah's title to the new album can be purchased by logging on to www.cdwow.com.
