Generic Propecia is a familiar name in medical science approved for the treatment of hair loss. It is specially recommended for male pattern baldness. It can boost hair growth and prevent further hair loss. The active ingredient of Generic Propecia is Finasteride, which obstructs the construction of DHT, and gives the hair follicles a chance to recover and grow.

How does it work?

Male Pattern Baldness occurs due to production of male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Type II 5-alpha reductase is an enzyme in body which is responsible for converting the male hormone testosterone into DHT. Propecia(プロペシア) (Finasteride) slow down the action of this enzyme.

Storage and Handling
The drug should be stored at room temperature, 15-30°C (59-86°F). Keep container closed and protect from moisture. It is warned for the women not to handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets when they are pregnant or may possibly be pregnant because of the risk of absorption of finasteride. It is harmful for a male fetus.
For whom propecia is prescribed?
Propecia (Finasteride) is prescribed only for men and not for women due to serious risks in pregnancy and breast feeding. It is also not for use in children and adolescents.
The drug should be avoided by men who are taking 'Proscar' (finasteride 5 mg) or any other 5a-reductase inhibitor for benign prostatic hyperplasia or any other condition. The drug is not indicated for use in pediatric patients.
Propecia (Finasteride) demerits:
Usually the drug when taken at the recommended dose does not cause serious side effects. There are several side effects associated with taking Propecia(プロペシア) (Finasteride), such as decreased volume of ejaculate, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction; rashes, itching and swelling of the lips and face; breast tenderness and enlargement and testicular pain.
