Resveratrol Face Creams

When Harvard released their results on resveratrol studies, cosmetic companies jumped on the idea of making resveratrol products. However, they are under a lot of suspicion. Not only are the large cosmetic companies charging hideous amounts for resveratrol creams, there are questions as to whether the resvertrol is actually potent enough to have anti aging benefits.

In a 60 Minutes report Estée Lauder's Dr Daniel Maes commented on the resveratrol findings. "I have a gut feeling these findings are going to be huge for the future of anti-ageing," says Dr Maes. "We knew we could develop a technology to create a product that would increase cellular longevity, leading to healthier cells and a delay in the ageing process.

Estée Lauder was one of the first cosmetic companies to develop and manufacture resveratrol face creams. However, the price tag is not cheap. To purchase Estée Lauder's Re-Nutriv Ultimate Youth Creme is $395 per tub of face crème. Maes went on to further say: "In a world where everyone wants to speed things up, we need to take things more slowly when it comes to our skin. We believe it's more important to slow down cellular division to give the cells time to do what they have to do when they divide, which is mostly to repair DNA." Is it really worth $395 per tub?

Many in the medical field have said that this price tag is nothing short of absurd. Doctors have claimed that while Sinclair's finding of resveratrol is encouraging, no human trials have been conducted. While resveratrol did show in the studies to activate a system in that body that slows aging and helped curb a high calorie diet, resveratrol findings on humans are not far enough advanced to warrant such a price tag. Maes also stated that resveratrol had anti inflammatory agents in it that further helped reduce the aging of the skin.

Based on the little research done on humans It's believe that this price tag is justified. Resveratrol is a great anti aging, anti oxidant and weight reducing supplement, however consumers need to be careful of not being over charged by products that simply cannot justify almost $400 for a bottle of face crème.
