Not all bathroom accessories for you vanity are created equal. Some are an important part of keeping everything on the vanity organized and within reach and some are just nice to have around for aesthetic or personal purposes.

List of Bathroom Accessories

Here are some common bathroom vanity accessories:

* Soap dish - necessary only if you have bar soap. You will find that the soap dish that came with your accessory set is not necessary if you primarily use liquid soap. You don't have to buy bar soap just to fill your soap dish; if it is particularly attractive you can use it hold your jewelry or other small items while you use your sink. Don't keep your soap dish too close to the sink if you're using it for jewelry.

* Toothbrush holder - necessary to allow your toothbrush to dry and to keep it from picking up germs on your bathroom vanity counter. Moist toothbrushes breed germs like crazy. Obviously, if your toothbrush is electric and came with a charging dock you won't need to run out and buy a toothbrush holder. You can use the toothbrush holder you already have to hold makeup brushes if you have one and don't need it.

* Soap Dispenser - necessary only if you use liquid soap. Most liquid soap companies add attractive touches and pump dispensers to their bottles already, but if you want to keep your bathroom uniform, a soap dispenser will come in handy.

* Cotton ball/cotton swab container - necessary if you use either product often, otherwise you can keep your cotton balls or swabs in the first aid kit or under the cabinet.

* Makeup Tray - necessary only if you wear makeup. These handy bathroom accessories will keep your brushes and makeup from getting wet if you get water on your vanity top and prevent powder from getting all over your counter. You can use your make up tray to display your other charming bathroom accessories if you don't wear makeup.

As you can see, most bathroom accessories aren't absolutely necessary for your bathroom vanity, but they can add charming, put-together look to your home design.
