here we wish to share some useful tips to make such gears.
First select best quality raw material that undergo spectro analysis testing and crack detection tests .
second : Now Make a rough sketch of gears for pre machining sizes with atleast 2 mm margin for final machining . later Go for final machining as per accuracy maintain in drawing
Here take care to leave atlleast tolerence of 2 mm as grinding allowence.
Third : go for teeth cutting , broaching of gears such as not to disturb alignment of centre line in broach and outer teeth cut area .best way is to do broaching first and than outer teeth cutting with reference to a taper manderl .
Now test mesh matching of teeth of gears so that you may not face any problem after heat treat ment
Now Heat treatment is most important factor that increase life of gear . use best method of heat treatment because different method is used for different raw material example for SAE 8620 case carburising [sield quench } is best
Finally hold the gears centre to centre via mandral and do the grinding within tolerence said in drawing
