If I could package family support and a sense of security, I'd be the richest woman on earth! I can tell you over and over that these are only feelings, but really it comes down to what you are willing to do to be the master of your energy – starting with this first point.
When you do feel that nudge (or more) in your lower back and/or legs, or you reach for food when you aren't really hungry, take a deep breath in and ask yourself, "How can I do this differently?" and "What do I need to heal?" Let the answer come to you. You'll be surprised. If you doubt this will make any difference, try it for one week – EVERY time.
You see the keys to managing our energy are so simple, we often doubt they'll work. We stay with what we've always done because, well, that's what we've always done or because someone (ahem … usually someone in our FAMILY) said something to us at some point about what to believe in terms of our ability to create our own security. We took their word for it and never looked back. But unless things are hunky-dory in this area, your energy is speaking to you and will continue to do so whether you directly listen to it or not. Just look around you.
So, when you hear that old voice in your head, pain in your back or reach for the usual 'comfort food,' know that your energy is speaking to you. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but our habits work to create a false sense of security. That's their job. They see change as a threat. Our energy wants us to soar and succeed, starting with an authentic ability to be grounded in our body and our home – which is why you feel the discomfort or pain. Isn't it time you started listening?
