Some might associate a rat with a discussing rodent. In the States, we refer to someone who tells on someone a rat. Often times we will hear someone use the phrase "she ratted him out" or "he was a rat." This phrase simply means that someone told on someone else for doing something. While we associate a Rat with being a bad thing in America, in Chinese horoscopes a rat is a person who is adored, witty and intelligent.
The following years are considered to be the year of the rat: 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, and 2008. If you believe you were born in the year of the rat you would be wise to look it up on a Chinese calendar. The Chinese New Year falls on a different day every year!
Rats tend to have a need for constant mental and physical stimulation. While sometimes this can be a good thing, often times it is not. If a rat feels that they are lacking in the stimulation department, they may try to overcompensate by taking on too many projects at one time. This often results in a failure to meet all of their responsibilities. While there are a few negatives about being a rat there are far more positives. Those born in the year of the rat are naturally witty, charming, smart, talented and curious.
People who are born in rat years tend to share some of the same likes and dislikes. Many like shades of blue. They tend to enjoy light colored gems such as diamonds and amethysts. People born in the year of the rat seem to share a love for basketball.
Because rats are so witty, they tend to be great conversationalists. They tend to have lots of friends, because they possess the ability to put the minds of others at ease. They are also easy to talk to and can find something to say about almost anything.
Many careers are available for those born in the year of the rat. Because they enjoy doing household chores, they tend to be great homemakers. Many rats are researchers or historians. This is because rats are naturally curious and want to know all there is to know. Because of the rat's leadership abilities they also make fantastic managers, administrators and directors.
Rats always take care of themselves. They love their friends and families. They make wonderful parents and wonderful lovers.
