Let's start this article with a question. When you think of the most essential factor for Success in Internet Marketing, what comes to mind? A great marketing strategy? Or perhaps a killer product? Funding? Well, all of these are undeniably essential for Internet Marketing, but believe it or not, there is something of even greater importance to this.

What sets great Internet Marketers apart from the rest is PASSION. To put it simply, if you do not love your business, you will not take care of it. Many gurus out there advocate otherwise and say that your main interest is to reap profits but consider this: Can you start a real business and sell something you don't really know about or believe in? Can you convince others to buy that product? When someone is passionate about his business, it really shows. Furthermore, it is much easier to generate content and maintain your site, simply because you have great interest in it. So once you have decided to commit to Internet Marketing, the first place to start should be to identify your passion.


So what is your passion? This can be the most frustrating or the simplest step for you. It all depends on the individual. For example, my business partner Kai knows that his passion lies in teaching and anything related to fitness and health. Thus his focus is mainly on sports or maybe sports-medicine and he would apply it to affiliate marketing by promoting products related to these areas.

There are methods to find a suitable niche which ties in nicely with your passion in most cases. Your niche can be found by first searching for the appropriate keywords that buyers type when they utilize search engines like Yahoo! or Google. You want to find a niche that is neither overly popular nor too unpopular. The reason is simple: don't enter over-saturated markets ruled by Internet Marketing giants, but don't go the other extreme either and try your luck in a niche with too few customers.

Clickbank is one of the best affiliate marketing resources you can find, and it is one of the main sites with which you will be getting your paycheck from! Do a search on the 'Marketplace' page at the Clickbank site for products that are related to your niche. Use keywords related to your area of interest and see what kinds of possible products are profitable. You can then either choose to promote these existing products, or come up with your own based on what you believe will work after seeing the products on the market!


Here's a final tip before we end off: Lookout for what resources or products are being given away as freebies. You don't want to go to great lengths just to try and sell something that everyone can get for free!
